Monkey Paper Plate Craft

Monkey Paper Plate Craft
"Monkey See, Monkey Do"
1 Thessalonians 5:22- Abstain from all appearance of evil.

  • Paper Plate (you can use 2 and just staple another colored brown paper plate to the monkey head paper plate and draw a circle for his belly and color it pink.
  • Crayons
  • Glue or Tape
  • Monkey Template   (black and white)  (colored)
Pick from one of the monkey templates to print out. Have the kids cut the pieces out and glue or tape down to a paper plate. Really easy and simple for the kids.

Another option:
You could use two paper plates instead of one by coloring another paper plate brown. Do not color the center brown, color it pink for the monkey's belly. Then staple the monkey's body to the monkey head paper plate. You could add a tail by using brown yarn and taping it to the back.
Teaching Method:

You could teach the kids the monkey see, monkey do method. Kids watch their friends and parents, and mimic what they do. Everything from television programs to music.

Just because we are adults does not make it okay for us to be listening and watching things that are bad. We have to set an example and be like Jesus. The Bible says to stay away from things that look evil. Kids will copy what their parents or friends do. The bible says to train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. We as adults have to act right so our little monkey's (our kids) can act right as well. I am sure Mary and Joseph were not being naughty when Jesus was not looking. They were good all the time.

Father's Day Paper Plate Turtle

"Dad, I didn't SHELL out much this Father's day, but I still love you!"

  • two uncoated
  • paper plates
  • crayons
  • tape
  • scissors
  • a sheet of construction paper
  • optional google eyes for head

Divide the bottom side of an uncoated paper plate into squares or hexagons with a crayon.  Color each square.  Cut out a head, a tail, and four legs from construction paper.  Tape these to the top of a second paper plate.  Glue the two plates together so the tops of each plate are to the inside.
Place a baggy with a treat (cookies, candy, nuts, etc.) for dad between the plates before gluing together the plates.  Children who are old enough can write a thank you note to their fathers on the bottom.  It can say something like: "Dad I didn't SHELL out much for Father's Day but I still love you."
