My Touch and Feel Bible StoryBook

My Bible Story Book
(Feel and Touch)

Print this sheet out and have the kids make a touch and feel book with it. Make a book out of construction paper and staple the pages together. Just stack a few pieces of construction paper together and fold in half. Then put three staples down the edge. Have the kids cut each picture out and glue one on each page. Have them glue down something that resembles the person or story behind each one. For example:

Solomon: Glue a popsicle stick down below the picture and add plastic gems to the stick for a scepter.

Joseph: Glue down a small cut out piece of fabric that is full of different colors or diff color yarn.

John The Baptist: Glue a cotton ball down and paint it yellow for a bee hive to represent the honey he ate.

Joseph: Glue down some wood or a nail for being a carpenter. (Or you can draw the nail)

Elijah: Glue down red tissue paper for fire or red felt cut in flames for calling down fire.

Paul: Glue down goggle eyes and then draw a pair of eyes that are just black for him going blind.

Jonah: Glue down a strip of blue felt for water and draw a whale on top.

Mary: Glue down yellow yarn for hay that Mary laid the baby Jesus in.

Abraham: Glue down a piece of tinfoil for silver and draw a gold brick for gold. This represents the scripture when it says Abraham was rich in cattle, silver and gold.

These are just some ideas to use. Come up with your own or add more to it. On the front write, MY BIBLE STORYBOOK.

The 10 Plagues of Egypt
Locust 8th Plague

Exodus 10:13-  And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

Make this recipe to go along with the Sunday school Lesson on the locust plague we offer. All you need is the ingredients below to make this simple and easy snack. We are making these tomorrow and are going to let the kids make their own during class as a craft and then let them eat. So we will have a recipe craft tomorrow.

  • Strawberry Shortcake Rolls
  • Jelly Beans
  • Pretzel Sticks
  • White Frosting
  • Green Food Coloring
Take your roll and smear some green frosting on top of it. Add two pretzels on the side for the legs in the shape of a triangle. Do the other side the same way. Add two smaller pretzels in the top of the head for antennas and two jelly beans for eyes. This makes a great craft for the kids to do during class.

No One Egg-actly Like You

No One Egg-actly Like You

Gen 1:27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
  • Plastic eggs
  • Low temperature glue gun or craft glue for plastic
  • Mini pompoms
  • Pipe stem cleaners
  • Yarn
  • Google eye stickers
  • Paper band

Decide which end of the egg will be the head.  Place the google eyes stickers on the top half of the egg.  Cut yarn into the desire length for the hair and glue it to the top.  Glue on a mini pompom for the nose.  Cut a paper band long enough to make a circle in which the egg can set.  Make a snip in the band and draw a collar.  Set the egg into the band.

To make yarn curls, dip the yarn in a mixture of one part glue and three parts water.  Wrap the yarn around a straw and let it dry.

Let the children compare their egg people and discuss how each one is different.  God made each of us a little different from everyone else.  Each person is unique.  You were planned and designed by God.  His loving hand made you exactly the way you are, because he has a purpose for your life.

Easter Resurrection Eggs Craft- Free Printables

This coloring page has the Resurrection eggs on it. If you have not see the resurrection eggs then you might want to consider doing a craft project with the kids at church using this idea.

You need:
  • Template
  • Empty Egg Carton or (brown lunch bag, basket, or anything that will hold the eggs)
  • 12 Plastic Eggs
  • Scissors
  • Tape or Glue
  • Crayons
You may have seen the original Resurrection Eggs and they use real items inside the eggs. Those are fun to do too. But this is just an easier way. You will need to make one yourself to have on hand to demonstrate and tell the story first and then have the kids do their own. This is just a basic story that leads up to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Sit the kids down in a circle. Begin to read to the kids the list 1-12 and open each egg one at a time while you are going through the list. Show the the children the little picture of what was in the egg and explain a short simplified story behind each one. Each egg has a different story.

  1. Palm Branch-  this is for the triumphal entry. The palm leaves were thrown down when they saw Jesus coming. Matthew 21:8
  2. Bread- this is for the last supper when Jesus broke bread with the disciples. Matthew 26:26
  3. Praying Hands- this is for Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane.  Mark 14:32
  4. Coins- this is for Judas betraying Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.  Matthew 26:14-15
  5. Rope- this is for the rope that Jesus was bound with by soldiers  Matthew 27:2
  6. Feather- this is for Peter denying Jesus three times and the rooster crowed like Jesus said it would. Matthew 26:34
  7. Thorns- this is for the crown of thorns that was placed on Jesus head.  John 19:2
  8. Purple Robe- this is for Jesus robe that was taken away.  Matthew 27:28
  9. Cross- this is for the cross that Jesus died on for our sins. John 19:17-18
  10. Tomb- this is for Jesus being placed in a tomb and rose on the third day.  Matthew 28:5-6
  11. Fish- this is for Jesus eating fish with the disciples.  Luke 24:41-33
  12. Clouds- this is for Jesus going up to Heaven. Act 1:11
Once your are done with the demonstration have the kids go to their seats and hand out the printed sheet of resurrection eggs.

Have the kids color and cut each egg out with the scripture included in it. If you print the colored one out then you don't have to worry about crayons. Give each child 12 plastic eggs to put the paper eggs in. Have the kids put the eggs in order in the egg carton if they are using one.

Tape or glue the 1-12 list to the inside at the top of egg carton. If you are using a brown lunch bag just tape or glue to outside of bag. If you are using a basket then just tape to the side of basket.

Another option is that you could just let the kids color the page and take it home instead. Just talk about each one and what they represent.

Spring Time Coloring Pages

Spring Time Coloring Pages
To print some of these Spring Coloring Pages out for your Sunday school class or Children's Church come on over to our SPRING COLORING PAGES.

And did I mention that we have Spring Rabbit Craft you can make with your kids too?

God Made The Spring Rabbit Craft

(Genesis 2:19)  And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

Spring is almost here! Now let's see, what goes with spring? Bunny Rabbits, Butterflies, Bumblebees, Flowers, Hummingbirds, and the list goes on.

God made all these cute little creatures. He made the little bunny rabbit with his cute long floppy ears, and fluffy bushy tail. God makes the most interesting looking animals, don't you think? Then after he made them he brought them to Adam and had him name them. In the picture above is a GOD MADE THE SPRING RABBIT CRAFT.

Materials for this craft:
  • Sock
  • Beans
  • Rubber bands
  • Ribbon
  • Markers
  • Felt (Optional)
  • Pompom for tail
  • Glue
  • Paper Tube for Funnel
Place a paper tube into the top of sock to use as a funnel.  Fill the sock to just below the heel and tie a ribbon around it to make the body.  Add more beans to make a head.  Tightly wrap a rubber band at the top of the head.  The remaining cuff of the sock will make the ears.  Make a vertical cut through the center of the cuff almost down to the rubber band.  Trim each section to the shape of rabbit ears.  Cover the rubber band with ribbon.  Glue a pompom on the back for the tail.  Draw the nose and eyes.  Or, cut them from felt and glue them on.  You can also make large teeth and glue them below the nose.

How to make a YouTube Video with pictures

Noah's Ark Clipart

We went ahead and made a youtube video with some animals that we created here at Church House Collection. After multiple attempts of trying to find a website that offered free resources to make a slideshow movie of the pictures I finally stumbled upon an article that said most people have the video making source already on their computer. I was like WHAT? So I went into my START icon on my computer and did a search for a Windows Live Video Maker. And low and behold the little booger popped up. I thought well isn't that just something.

I was very surprised at how easy this whole thing was to manipulate and add effects to it. I thought Cool! Then I saved it and went over into Youtube and uploaded my video. It loaded super duper fast. Then when I was waiting for it to finish it couldnt. I though wait a minute....What is going on now. Apparently this thing had saved it in the wrong format. I was like UGHHH!!!

So back to the video maker section I went. I thought now what am I suppose to save this in. Well there was this button on the top right hand corner and it said SAVE MOVIE...I clicked on that and then clicked on RECOMMEND FOR THIS PROJECT. That saved into the correct format.

(And Yes, I realize there was a button at the top that had options where you could upload it straight to YouTube however when I tried that it wanted me to get a hotmail account. I was like....uh...okay never mind..)

So I went and tried the upload again in the Youtube section. It worked this time, but took a long time to upload. I am just glad it worked.

I am writing all this because someone out there like me might need to have this information available. It would have made it easy if I had come across someone's post that had something like this.

I like to find free things, however, I never thought my own computer had something so useful lurking deep within.

Hope this post helps someone out there that wants to upload a YouTube Video of a Slideshow Picture Gallery.

By the way I had originally went with slideroll that is a free one, but it cut a lot of my pictures off and then I tried Smilebox and they have cool stuff, but they want money if you want to upload music. So check it out on your computer and try typing in Windows Live Movie Maker. Hope your computer has one because it's very worth it.
