Dryer Lint Paper Mache

3 cups of Dryer Lint
2/3 Cups of Flour
2 Cups of Water

Mix the lint and water together in a large saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Slowly add the flour in mixing well until it forms peaks and holds together good. Cover your object that you want to cover and let it for about 4 or 5 days.

Homemade Perfume Recipe

  • 1 cup of Water
  • Fragrant Flowers

Use flowers that smell good such as roses, honeysuckle, lavender, or any flower that just smells lovely. Tear the little flower petals up and put in your cup of water. Let the flower water mixture set up for a few days before you use your homemade perfume recipe.

Bathtub Soap Crayons

  • 1 cup Soap Flakes
  • 2 Tablespoons of Hot Water
  • 2 or 3 drops of Food Coloring
Mix Soap Flakes and Hot water in a bowl together. Mix real good. This mixture will be hard to stir. For multiple colors of bathtub crayons just scoop small amounts into a few other bowls and add your different colors to each bowl. Mix until you get a thick paste.

Take this paste and scoop into a mold or some ice cube trays. Set them somewhere to harden. Let them set up for about one week then take them out of the ice cube trays. You might need to let it dry a few more days once it's out of the ice cube trays. Then let the kids have fun drawing all over the shower walls. YEAH!

Sawdust Playdough

  • 2 Cups of Sawdust
  • 1 Cup of Salt
  • 3 Cups of Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons of Water (or as needed)

Mix all the ingredients together. Shape into something neat and let it harden.

Scratch and Sniff Paint

  • Liquid Tempera Paint
  • 2 or 3 Drops of Flavoring Extract, or as desired
Add your flavoring extract to the paint. Use any kind of flavored extract you like. Let dry. Then scratch and sniff!

Mother's Day Flower Sponge Craft

Mother's Day
Flower Sponge Gift

  • Red Plastic Cup
  • Green Straw
  • Flower Template (Colored)  (Black & White)
  • Brand New Sponge
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Hole Punch
Print out one of the flower templates. Pick the color or black and white. Color it if you picked the black and white one. Cut it out. Fold your flower in half and take the hole punch and put a hole in it. Just put a half of a hole on the edge. Don't put the full hole cause it might be too big. Tape your green straw to the inside of your red cup. Now open your little flower back up and slide it on the straw. Put it on the ridges where the straw bends. Tape the back to hold it in place. Tape your leaves on to the front. Stick your new sponge down in the cup.

Now the kids can give these to their mom's for Mother's Day. The sponge is for washing the dishes or cleaning the counter tops off.

Let Your Light Shine Lantern

 Let Your Light Shine Lantern

Mat 5:16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Supplies:
  • Card stock
  • scissors
  • glue or tape
  • markers
  • stickers
  • etc.

Cut a one-inch strip off the 8 ½ inch long edge for the handle. Fold the piece of card stock in half along the long edge.  Cut evenly spaced slashes along the folded edge (Cut through both layers) leaving about 1 inch uncut on the open edges. Decorate with stickers, markers, etc.  Open the paper up and then roll it into a tube lengthwise so the slashes run up and down.  Glue or tape the edges of the paper together.  Press down on the top of the lantern so it bulges out a little in the center.  Attach the one inch strip to the top of your lantern for a handle.

If you do not have card stock, any sturdy paper will work.

Rebekah's Pasta Jewelry

Rebekah's Pasta Jewelry

Genesis 24:53-  And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.
  • Bright yellow yarn
  • Tape
  • Alcohol
  • Food coloring
  • Small cups
  • Pasta of various shapes that can be strung
  • Spoon
  • Paper towels

Pour alcohol into small cups.  Add several drops of food coloring.  Make one cup for each desired color.  Drop pieces of pasta into the cups.  Be sure the pasta is covered.  After two or three minutes, scoop the pasta out with a spoon and drain on paper towels.  Repeat until you have colored all the pasta you will need.  Check to see if the pasta is colored as dark as you want.  If not, back in the cup it goes.

Let the pasta dry 30 minutes.  Cut yarn to desired length for a necklace or a bracelet.  Wrap tape around the ends of the yarn to make it easy to string the pasta.  Let the children choose colors and string the pasta to make their own designs.  Tie the ends of the yarn and cut off the tape.  White pasta works better than whole wheat for this craft.
