Angel Tree Topper Craft "Luke 2:10" For Christmas

Angel Tree Toppers
Luke 2:10 Craft

We made Angel Tree Toppers in class. The angel has the words, "LUKE 2:10" written on the front of the angel. This craft goes with the story from Luke 2:10. Tell the bible story that goes along with this and let them make this cute little craft.

We ran out of time in class when the kids were making these and didn't get to add glitter to their hands, however I am sure the parents were grateful for that! lol They may not have wanted glitter in their car. haha

I took a picture of the angel tree toppers the kids made at church.
This is the picture of them below.

This is how you make it.
 Grab one paper plate.

Cut your paper plate in half.

Shape both paper plates into a cone and staple or tape.

This is what they should look like.

Stack one on top of the other like this.
This is for the dress of the angel.

Pick a color of construction paper out that you want the angel wings to be. I used yellow but the kids in my class used different colors. Have the child trace their hand onto the construction paper or cardstock and cut them out. You might have to help some if they can't trace their own hand.

Now smear glue on it and sprinkle glitter if you want. Or you could wait until you finish the angel to add the glitter.

Now either you draw the head with hair or let the kids draw it
and cut it out. Then tape the head to the front. You could also draw them a bow or they can do their own and cut that out and let them tape the bow under the angel's head. If you can't do this then just have them add a ribbon made into a bow or you could just have the kids draw the bow on to the front with a black marker or crayon. Or you could just leave the bow off. We didn't get to that part either during class time.

Make a paper halo or you could use a pipe cleaner. Just stick down into the top of the angel topper and tape to the back of the head.

Have them decorate her dress by adding peel and stick stickers or jewels. We used peel and stick crosses from Oriental Trading. Then smear a line of glue across the top and bottom ruffled part of the dress and add glitter. Have the kids write Luke 2:10 on the front of their angel.

Now let the kids take this home and hang up on top of their tree. Or you could staple them to your bulletin board in your classroom and add the words, "Fear Not, For I Bring You Good Tidings Of Great Joy". This would make a fantastic Christmas bulletin board for December.

Don't forget to tell the bible story from Luke 2:10 that goes with this.

Luke 2:1  And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

Luke 2:2  (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

Luke 2:3  And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

Luke 2:4  And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

Luke 2:5  To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

Luke 2:6  And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

Luke 2:7  And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Luke 2:8  And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

Luke 2:9  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Luke 2:10  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Luke 2:11  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Luke 2:12  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

Luke 2:13  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Luke 2:14  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 2:15  And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

Luke 2:16  And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

Luke 2:17  And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

Luke 2:18  And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

Luke 2:19  But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

Luke 2:20  And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Christmas Ornament Cutouts For Sunday School or Children's Church. Great for group activities during children's church. Just print the Christmas ornament out on cardstock. If you print on regular printing paper then you might want to laminate it so it will hold up. I got my laminator from Walmart. They come in real handy. After the kids color their picture have them cut it out and use a hole punch to put a hole in the top of the ornament loop. Run some pretty ribbon through the top or use a christmas metal hook and hang it up on the tree.

"I Love Jesus" Christmas Wreath Using Construction Paper

I LOVE JESUS CHRISTMAS WREATH
Take one large sheet of green construction paper and fold in half vertically and tape. Don't put a crease in it because you don't want a line in your wreath. Take some scissors and cut slits in it starting from the bottom going all the way to the top. Make the cut almost to the crease. Then fold this into a ring and connect with tape or staple.

Take a round hole punch and cut out four red dots for berries and tape on the to the wreath. If you have a glitter snowflake ornament then tape that to the bottom. The kids can make their own using paper and have them add glue and glitter to it.

This glitter snowflake that was used in this picture was from Walmart. You can buy bulk glitter ornaments from the dollar tree too. Let the kids add some yarn to back by looping it through the wreath and let them hang it up somewhere or on the fridge.

If you want to make this for church then have the kids write on the wreath loops, "I Love Jesus". Use three different loops to get this on the wreath by writing I on one loop, LOVE on another loop and JESUS on the last loop. Or you could use black sticker letters.

Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft Using Glue, Shaving Cream And Food Coloring To Create A Puff Paint Look

 Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft

Galatians 3:13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
We celebrate Christmas because Jesus was born into this world and died for our sins so we could be forgiven. Through the blood of Jesus he made a way for salvation through him. He paid that price for us and we should be thankful for what he did.

To make this Christmas tree paper plate craft all you need is:
Elmer's Glue
Green Food Coloring
Men's White Shaving Cream
1 Paper Plate
Tape or Stapler
Glitter
Decorations like little silver stars or a star punch

First you want to take your paper plate and shape it into a cone shape so it will look like a Christmas tree. You need to cut a slit in it so you can twist it into a cone. Then you want to tape or staple the paper plate so it will hold. Then mix the shaving cream, Elmers glue and green food coloring together to make a paste. Have the child cover the paper plate in green. When this stuff dries it will puff up. You can either wait till the tree dries or you add the glitter and stars to the wet paint.

Let the kids add a star at the top of the tree by making a little yellow star covered in glitter and tape it to a toothpick and stick it down in the top of the paper plate.
