"My Name Is Chick" and "Jesus Rose From The Dead"

Just pick out which template you need below and print it. We have colored and black and white. If you print the black and white out then have the child color the chick yellow and his feet and beak orange. Tape the head and arms onto a brown lunch bag. Or you could do a white lunch bag and have the kids color it yellow if you want.

Have the child fold the arms and legs back and forth to make a crinkle in it before they tape it on. This bag is empty but you could fill it with something to make it full. I just folded the top over and stapled it. Tape the little small square with the words, "My Name Is Chick" or "Jesus Rose From The Dead" in the middle of the bag. (Depending on which template you printed)

How To Make Sugar Eggs- Panoramic Eggs

This is a really fun idea to do with your kids at home or even at church.We let the kids make these at church. All you need is regular sugar, some water and some type of egg mold. I got my plastic egg molds from walmart in the Easter section. 

First your going to want to heat your oven to 200 degrees while you are making these. Grab a bowl and pour 3 cups of sugar and 1 tablespoon of water. If you want a colored egg then just add your food coloring to the 1 tablespoon of water and then pour the water into the bowl of sugar. This is going to look as if there is not enough water but trust me it is. You will need to mash the sugar with a fork to get all the sugar wet. It will be like sand. It will not be soaking wet. It will be just wet enough to pack into the egg mold.

The Large Egg Mold that I bought at walmart will hold the entire 3 cups of sugar. You will have some left over maybe depending on how wet you get the sugar. It will be 1 1/2 for each egg half. Pack the sugar into the egg mold really really good. Then scoop out some of the middle. Not to much but just a little. Now turn the sugar egg over onto a baking sheet and stick in the oven for about 15-20 minutes. Take out of oven when they are done and continue scooping the middle out.

If you want a window then you will need to carve that out now. If you don't want to do that and you just want your egg to be filled with loose jelly beans then seal your egg shut with jelly beans in it using Royal Icing. Royal icing is powdered sugar with egg whites. These will create a very hard frosting. You will need 1 2/3 cup of sugar per 1 egg white. Use a blender to blend that up for a few minutes. I took a small ziplock bag and put the frosting in that and snipped off the end using scissors. I then added some frosting to the egg and sealed the egg shut. Let dry and then decorate the outside of the egg. Now when the kids shake their egg they will hear the jelly beans in it. Most kids keep their eggs as a keepsake and don't eat it. However if they plan on eating it then you might want to make frosting that has no egg whites and use meringue powder instead.

ROYAL ICING-
This sealed up 14 large eggs that I had with some left over. I only used this to seal the eggs shut.
Powdered Sugar- 1 2/3 cup
1 Egg White

SUGAR EGG- Makes 1 Large Sugar Egg 
Bake in oven at 200 Degrees for 15-20 Minutes
1 Egg Mold
3 Cups of Sugar
1 Tablespoon of Water
Food Coloring - optional (add to your water then pour in sugar)
