Turkey Sucker Anyone?

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. We are getting those wonderful ideas of Turkey Crafts running through our heads for Church, and baking those wonderful smelling goodies. My child came up with an idea to make a Turkey Sucker Craft. She gathered up about 5 suckers, and taped them together. She had me draw a turkey head on a brown lunch bag, and she cut it out.

Then she gathered up a red and orange marker to color it. She needed an eye for the turkey and she found a sheet of those little plastic stick on earrings laying around here and used that. I thought that was pretty neat. She got some tape and taped her decorated turkey head onto the suckers. They come up with the cutest little ideas and it just makes me smile to see that they are trying to help mommy out.

You can try making these in your Sunday School Class or in Childrens Church. You will have to buy a bunch of suckers if you do, but the kids will love it. You can always add a scripture of your choose to the craft. You might want to have them write a scripture in pencil on the turkey. The whole scripture will probable not fit so you can always just write the the number on in like this (1 Thess 5:18) You could even type scripture out, and print them off so they can take the paper home with them. You can just type the scripture out and then copy and paste it over and over again on one sheet of paper. Then cut those out and put the scripture paper into a ziplock bag along with the turkey sucker craft they made so they can take it home. That would work well and keep everything together for them.

Some good choices for Thanksgiving scripture are :
1 Thessalonians 5:18-In everything thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Psalm 147:6- Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God.
Psalm 50:14- Offer unto God thanksgiving and pay thy vows unto the Most High.
