Easter Tomb Snacks For Kids

Would like to know how to make little Easter tombs for your kids to eat?
Try this little recipe out.

I actually used the regular sized Easter Eggs when I made these. I actually doubled this recipe and I had so much Rice Krispies left over  it was not even funny. I bought a package of plastic eggs (48 eggs) and made all 48 using both sides of the egg mold.

Then I had so much left over that I scooped it all in a 11" X 15"  glass pan and just spread them out to make regular rice krispy treats. I added some miniature marshmallows on top of that.

THIS RECIPE: MAKES 24 SERVINGS
For regular Rice Krispy Treats
  • 6 Tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 8 cups  miniature marshmallows or 2 pkg. Regular Marshmallows
  • 12 cups  Rice Krispy Cereal
  • Plastic Eggs-Regular size

These will be a hit!

Tomb With Linens Snack

Tomb With Linens Snack
Makes 24 Servings

John 20:5-  And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.

John 20:6- Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,

John 20:7- And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

  • 6 Tablespoons   butter or magarine
  • 8 cups   miniature marshmallows or 2 pkg. Regular Marshmallows
  • 1 mini marshmallow - for Jesus linens
  • 12 cups   Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 Large Plastic Egg (for mold)-OR you can use small plastic eggs (we used a large plastic egg)

Make your rice krispies . Then stuff a plastic egg with the mix. Spray your hands with non-stick spray and then make a hole in the rice krispies. Add one mini marshmallow in the tomb for Jesus linens that he left behind after he rose from the dead. This has to be the easiest recipe I have ever made. I thought this was going to be a lot of work but it really wasn't. Make sure you pack these down in the eggs real good so they will hold it's shape. Stick in freezer to help speed the setting process up.

Make 1 tomb for each child and take for children's church or Sunday school.
Teach the kids about the resurrection of Jesus for Easter.
This will be a hit!

Easter Rice Krispy Tomb Cake

Easter Rice Krispy
Makes 24 Servings

  • 6 tablespoons   butter or margarine
  • 8 cups   miniature marshmallows-  OR-   2 pkg. Regular marshmallows
  • 12 cups   Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal
  • Coconut
  • Green Food Coloring
  • Chocolate Rocks (from walmart)
  • Jesus Template (printable version)
  • Toothpicks
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • 1 Large Plastic Egg (for mold)
Directions:
Melt your butter on the stove on low heat.
Add your marshmallows to it.
Stir until all melted.
Add your rice krispies.

Take a large plastic egg and stuff the mix in both eggs.
Spray your hands with non-stick cooking spray.
Form a hole in center of eggs by pushing your thumbs in it.

Let mix set in egg while you make the rest of the cake.
Put eggs in freezer to set up while you finish the cake.

Spoon the rest of your rice krispy mix into a large glass pan.
Dye some coconut green for green grass. Add on top of rice krispies.
Sprinkle some chocolate rocks on top. (I got those from walmart)
Print off our Jesus template and cut it out.
Tape to a toothpick and stick down in cake.
Grab your eggs out of the freezer now.
Put the tomb egg on top of the green grass. To make the door just flatten the other egg tomb out with your hand. Use the top of a lid jar and press down in rice krispy. This will make a nice little round door.
Lay the tomb stone door next to the tomb. I noticed that I had to put the tomb and little door back in the freezer for a couple of minutes so it could set up really good. If they are not all the way cool they will start to flop over. Sticking them in the freezer sets them up pretty good. Take this to a church function or make this for the kids at church to go with a Easter Lesson.  If you wanted you could just make the kids a bunch of tomb eggs by using small plastic eggs. Instead of making the whole cake just make the little tombs for the kids. If you wanted you could even leave them in the eggs if you wanted and hand them out to the kids. Either way they will love them, and they taste great too!
