Fourth Of July Crafts For Kids- Firecracker Lapbook For Sunday School- "Galatians 5:1 Christ Hath Made Us Free"

Fourth Of July Craft Lapbook For Sunday School
Galatians 5:1- Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free...

Supplies:
Colored Folder
Crayons or Markers (f you print the black and white pages)
Printable Firework templates (printables below- Colored and Black and White)
Tape
Scissors- plain and decorative
Red Construction Paper
Brown Jute or Yarn (For firecracker)
Round Paper Punch (if you don't have one then just have the kids cut out a round yellow circle for the firecracker)

First pick which templates you need. If you want the kids to color the pictures then print the black and white ones. We also have colored templates if you don't have time for them to color. Have them color and cut out the mouse firework picture out and tape to the front of the folder.

On the inside of the folder you will need to have the kids cut a square of red construction paper out and roll it up like a firecracker. Just tape it to make it hold. Add some jute or brown yarn to the inside of the firecracker and tape that on the inside. Then add a yellow circle at the end of the jute or yarn for the fire part. If you don't have a hole punch just cut a circle out. Just tape the entire firework down on the folder on the left hand side. Have the kids color the small firework with the words that say, " Jesus died on a cross so we could go FREE! Praise The Lord! Glory To God In The Highest!" Have them tape that above the firework that the kids made.

For the right hand side of the folder just have them color and cut out the huge firecracker and tape that down. It has a scripture from Galatians 5:1 on it too.

An Eye For An Eye And A Tooth For A Tooth Lapbook

An Eye For An Eye And A Tooth For A Tooth Lapbook
I bought "Smead" Brights Folders- 1/3-cut tabs- Letter Size- Assorted Colors-QTY 100. The folders come in 5 different colors- Yellow, Red, Blue Green and Orange.

You can purchase the colored folders at www.Smead.com

A hole punch was used on the folders so they could go in a large white binder folder. We will be making several different Bible story lapbooks so they can fill their binder up.

This is the front of the lapbook. This is a tooth picture that I drew and I added the scripture from Matthew 5:38-39 to the front. I just taped it down. When you open the folder on the left hand side there is a picture of another small tooth and some words that I cut out using decorative cutting scissors. The scripture is about when Jesus said that of old times it was said, "An eye for an eye and a tooth a tooth, but resist not evil he said. He said to turn and give your other cheek if someone hits you. That is really hard to do, but if we heed to what God say's to do then we will be okay.

If you don't brush your teeth what will happen? They will rot and fall out. Or you would have to get a filling or a cap. We have to take care of our teeth or we will have problems. The same with the word of God. If we do not obey God's word then we will have problems.

It's not that God wants you to be a door mat and never speak up, but we have to learn to keep our Spirit in good standing. God said, VENGEANCE IS MINE, I REPAY SAY'S THE LORD. He will pour out vengeance on those who try to destroy or hurt you.

You don't have to worry about trying to do something yourself when God can do it for you.  God needs strong leaders. Jesus was meek, but a strong leader and speaker. He held is tongue at times, but at other times he spoke with strength and power and said in Matthew 23:29  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous and in Matthew 23:33  Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Jesus died for us yet he was not a doormat when he came to speaking the truth. We need to speak the truth of the word of God and not be a doormat for others to run over. Jesus spoke with power!!! He was not a doormat! He was the son of the living God. He is the GREAT I AM! He was not a push over! He was the CHRIST! We should hold our tongues when God say's to, and then when he say's to speak, then SPEAK!

Romans 12:19  Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Romans 12:20  Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Romans 12:21  Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

God can repay and finish things out for us and we don't have to even put our finger in it so to speak. Let God deal with your problem. When he handles it, it's done the right way. If we handle it, it could lead to destruction and more problems. God's way is the perfect way.

This is the printable template for the folder. Just cut the small tooth out and the words and tape to the left side of the folder. On the right side you will need to tape the picture of the teeth.

This template is for the front of the folder.

The Life Of Tabitha "Dorcas" Lapbook- Tabitha Raised From The Dead Craft and Cupcakes With "Needle and Thread Template"

The Life Of Tabitha "Dorcas" Lapbook
Acts 9:36-42

Here are the pictures of the kids lapbooks they made during class time. Each child got to pick what color of folder they wanted. (the thread and needle clipart picture is free to use, just don't sell it or add it to a free collection online. You can use it for personal use.)

The kids did, The Life Of Tabitha "Dorcas" Lapbook. They learned that Tabitha, also known as Dorcas, was a woman that was full of goodworks and almsdeeds. In scripture she was referred to as a disciple. She sewed garments and coats for widows.  Then one day she died. Peter was sent to her and raised her back from the dead. He put all the widows out of the room and kneeled down beside her and turned the body toward him and said, "Tabitha Arise!" She opened her eyes and saw Peter.

Tabitha Raised From The Dead Bible Story
Act 9:36  Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
Act 9:37  And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
Act 9:38  And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
Act 9:39  Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
Act 9:40  But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
Act 9:41  And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
Act 9:42  And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

God showed his mighty strength through Peter and raised Tabitha back from the dead. Many believed in the Lord because of this miracle.

The kids used the shirt pattern (availabe for free below). They cut the shirt pattern out and laid it on some felt and cut it out.

They hot glued the shirts to their folders on the inside of the folder on the right hand side and decorated them using some left over materials that I had in my closet from home. It was interesting to see how they decorated them. Cute, huh!

I took white lunch sacks that I bought from Wal-mart and cut the very bottom half off and taped it to the folder under their shirts they made. This will make a little pocket that opens up. I wrote the words "Tabitha's Sewing Pattern's" on the front of it and stuck the sewing pattern down in the pocket.  Then the kids taped the three other pictures to the right of the folder, "Peter, Tabitha, Needle and Thread, and a Coat. The coat will come in black and white for the kids to color it. The rest of the pictures will come colored.
